Unlocking a profile

Unlocking reveals a Talent Network candidate who said they're interested in one of your jobs. It uses 1 credit and shows their name, work history and contact details. Once unlocked, they stay unlocked for your company.

Where interested candidates come from

When you create a job, the Distribute to Cherrypicker Talent Network setting sends it to vetted candidates in the network who qualify. It's on by default, and distributing is free. Candidates review the job and can say they're interested.

When someone says they're interested, you're notified in the app and by email, but their profile stays anonymous until you unlock it.

How to unlock a candidate

You can unlock from either of these places:

  • On the job page: interested candidates show under the Needs review filter with an Unlock candidate button.
  • On the Talent Network: their row shows Interested · Unlock candidate.

Then:

  1. Click the unlock button.
  2. Check the confirmation, Unlock this candidate?
  3. Click Unlock · 1 credit.

Their details are revealed and you can start a Chat with them.

What unlocking gets you

  • Their name, photo, LinkedIn, resume, work history with employer names, schools, and contact details
  • Chat with the candidate
  • A permanent unlock for your company. Their details stay visible wherever they appear, including the Talent Network, My Candidates, the Tracker and your jobs, for everyone on your team.

An unlock can't be undone.

Cost

  • Unlocking uses 1 credit.
  • If you already sent this candidate an introduction request (which used a credit) and they haven't answered it yet, unlocking them is free, so you never pay twice for the same person.
  • If your account has promotional credits, those are used first.
  • If you don't have enough credits, the unlock won't go through and you won't be charged.

Unlock or introduction?

You unlock someone who has already said they're interested in one of your jobs. For anyone else on the Talent Network, you request an introduction instead. See Requesting an intro.
